Waterbabies Classes

Welcome to Waterbabies class

🏫 Our Home Pool

Our primary pool for this class is East High School, with occasional sessions at Central or South High School as needed.

📍 East High School Pool

Take Windmill Rd → Turn Left (from Dell Range) or Right (from Pershing Blvd) into the large north parking lot near the tennis courts.

🚪 Pool Entry:

The left side of the double door is unlocked for both the building and the pool on the left, then use the stair case to go downstairs.

Locker rooms are available.

🚿 Before Class

Students must rinse off before entering the pool.

⏰ Arrival

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early in order to avoid disrupting the classes before you.

📝 Waivers

Attached you’ll find the two required waiver forms — one for LCSD and one for Swim with Britt.

➡️ These must be signed for every individual entering the pool area before class begins.

You can return them digitally (preferred) or bring a printed copy to class.

💧 Swim Diapers

All children who are not yet potty trained must wear a swim diaper during class to keep our pool safe and clean.

👶 Preparing for Your Baby’s First Swim Class

  • Let your baby splash and play in the bathtub 🛁
  • Gently pour water over their shoulders and face to get them comfortable 💦
  • Don’t worry — we won’t do much underwater work on day one!
  • The pool is kept at a swim team temperature — warmer than the lake, cooler than the tub. A rash guard or baby wetsuit can help keep your little one cozy but not necessary. 🩱

I’m thrilled to begin this journey with you and your little swimmer. Thank you for being part of our growing community — I can’t wait to see your smiling faces at the pool! 💙

Summer 2016 – My First Waterbaby ❤️

I’m happy to answer any questions during class and help guide you through steps to practice at home and at other pools.

In the course you will teach your child

-safe entry & exit

-swimming

-floating

-navigating the pool

I breakdown each step of the curriculum and leave you to work with your child as I observe and assist from deck.

Many of these positions and holds are new to your child and can be uncomfortable at first, and your child may cry when you challenge them to move to the next step but it will improve with consistency and practice. The benefit of mommy and me is getting the chance to teach, comfort, and encourage your child to swim independently and play safely in the pool on your own. Making this an experience you can share with each for summers to come.

Day 1 is easy! We are getting acclimated to the water, doing simple water droplets on faces, and learning about entering, exiting the pool and getting a feel for what your goals and history is in the pool. Looking forward to working with you all’!

More Program Info

The curriculum is designed to get your child swimming and/or floating INDEPENDENTLY. There are NO coastguard approved life jackets for swimming pools. THIS IS A NO LIFEJACKET ZONE if you plan to use a life jacket, puddle jumper, or any swimming aid that forces your child to swim in a vertical (or drowning) position, you can expect regression or complete loss of skills in an emergency.
